WEDDING DAY TIMELINE

WHETHER YOU’RE PLANNING A FIRST LOOK OR STICKING WITH TRADITION AND NOT SEEING EACH OTHER UNTIL YOU WALK DOWN THE AISLE, WE HAVE TIPS TO HELP MAKE PLANNING YOUR TIMELINE AS EASY AS POSSIBLE!

When we first meet with couples, frequently we are asked about the timeline for the day. It's such a tough question to answer fully without knowing many factors of the wedding day that is often not available until many of the details are nearly finalized. To help give an overview of our approach and what we find to be an ideal timeline, we put together a schedule of the day with pre-ceremony portraits, and a second option with post-ceremony portraits.

Our timelines are based on almost a decade of experience at weddings, seeing what works and what does not work. We always work with each of our couples and their wedding planners leading up to the day to establish a timeline that ensures an enjoyable day for our clients, their families, and friends, while also giving us enough time to document each portion of the day authentically.

A vital factor of importance of wedding day timelines is always to remember to schedule all of your vendors with ample time. So often we have seen wedding days run behind schedule because the transportation or hair and makeup took longer than was scheduled. For this reason, we suggest adding some cushion time to pre-wedding activities to avoid a stressful day. Another tip we always recommend is to have at least thirty minutes of scheduled "down time" before the ceremony so that you can regroup, relax, or possibly refresh your hair or makeup if needed. This time can also be used in case of the pre-ceremony timeline being behind schedule.
